Utah Medicare
Medicare is a federal health insurance program that is available to people who are 65 years of age or older, or who have certain disabilities, ERS, or ALS. In Utah, Medicare is administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). There are four parts to Medicare: Part A (hospital insurance), Part B (medical insurance), Part C (Medicare Advantage), and Part D (prescription drug coverage). Premiums and deductibles for Medicare plans vary depending on the type of coverage you choose.
Enrollment in Medicare is optional, but most people who are eligible for Medicare sign up for at least Part A when they turn 65. Some people who are already receiving Social Security benefits will be automatically enrolled in Medicare.
Cost is always a major concern when it comes to health care, especially for those on a fixed income. Fortunately, there are a number of providers in Utah that offer affordable Medicare plans.

Medicare Supplements
Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private companies that contract with Medicare; they must provide at least the same level of coverage as Original Medicare Parts A and B, but they may also offer additional benefits, such as prescription drug coverage or routine dental and vision care. Most Medicare Advantage plans also have out-of-pocket maximums, which means that you will not have to pay more than a certain amount for your healthcare expenses in a year.
